The Eastern Railway (ER) is one of the 17 Zones of Indian Railways. The ER, Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Kolkata has published recruitment notification for engagement of Act Apprentices for the year 2019-20 under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, as amended from time to time, in Workshops and Divisions of Eastern Railway. The last date for online registration of Eastern Railway Apprentice 2020 is 5th April 2020. The online registration will be open for a 15 days window, after Covid-19 Janata Curfew end.

Unit-wise Vacancies: Howrah Division - 659, Sealdah Division - 526, Malda Division - 101, Asansol Division - 412, Kanchrapara Workshop - 206, Liluah Workshop - 204, Jamalpur Workshop - 684.
Age Limit: Minimum 15 years and maximum 24 years. The upper age relaxation - 05 years for SC / ST, 03 years for OBC - NCL and 10 years for PWBD category candidates.
Educational Qualification:
✅ The candidate must have passed 10th class (Matriculation) examination or its equivalent (under 10+2 examination system) with minimum 50% marks, in aggregate, from recognized Board and also should possess the National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.
✅ For Welder (Gas and Electric) / Sheet Metal Worker / Lineman / Wireman / Carpenter / Painter (General) trades - Minimum educational qualification is 8th class pass from recognized School and the National Trade Certificate in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.
Selection Process: Selection will be on the basis of merit (10th class or 8th std marks and ITI Marks).
Application Fee: A non refundable fee of ₹ 100/- only. No fee for SC, ST, PWBD and all women candidates. The payment of fees will have to be made online through ‘Payment Gateway’ while filling up the online Application Form. The fee can be made by using Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking etc.
How to Apply: Eligible candidates are required to apply online only through RRC Eastern Railway (www.rrcer.com). The closing date for registration of online applications is 13/03/2020. Latest Update (dated 3rd April 2020): In the wake of the Corona Virus Covid-19 pandemic and 21 days Janata Curfew till 14th April 2020, The Eastern Railway have been taken following decisions:
(1) All applicants can fill up their online applications, if they are ready, till 18:30 hrs on 05/04/2020 after which the application platform will be closed.
(2) The online application platform will again open for a 15-day window when the situation becomes normal, duly notifying candidates. In that 15-day window, candidates may fill up new online applications,if not already filled up. They may edit their already filled-up applications, if not filled-up properly and upload documents, if necessary. Those who have already filled up their applications need not fill up again.
